In this study, we aimed to investigate the association between ω-3⁄6 PUFA levels and kidney cancer using a large-scale GWAS database. Our analysis identified 49 SNPs associated with both ω-3 PUFA and kidney cancer, as well as 51 SNPs associated with both ω-6 PUFA and kidney cancer. To establish causality between these factors, we employed five complementary MR methods. Our findings suggest that there is indeed a correlation between elevated levels of fatty acids and increased risk of kidney cancer. These results highlight the importance of monitoring dietary intake of ω-3⁄6 fatty acids in order to reduce the risk of developing this disease. Further research is needed to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the relationship between ω-3⁄6 and kidney cancer.
