The Chengdu 2021 FISU Games are right around the corner, and preparations are in full swing with test events being conducted to ensure that everything runs smoothly. These test events bring an air of excitement and competitiveness to the various venues, providing a glimpse into what’s in store for spectators and athletes alike.
One such event is rowing, which took place from August 4th to 6th at Sichuan Water Sports School. Over 70 athletes participated in ten different events, including single sculls, mixed quadruple sculls, lightweight double sculls women, among others. The rowing events were a great success with rigorous reviews and meticulous attention to detail by venue management teams.
Archery also held its own Junior Championships and FISU Games Test Event at the Modern Pentathlon Archery Venue Operations Centre. More than 400 athletes from various schools and archery clubs competed in both individual and team events. Wang Zixin, an athlete from Chengdu Xinjin Foreign Language Experiment School, expressed his excitement about participating in such a professional event held in a standardized venue.
Judo enthusiasts also had their turn as Jianyang Cultural and Sports Centre Gymnasium hosted the Judo Test Event for the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games. The competition involved squads from Tianfu new district, Pengzhou, Xindu, and Xinjin totaling 85 athletes who showcased their skills through heated competitions while adhering to formal game standards.
Last but not least was volleyball; where sixteen selected teams participated in Stage One of the Chengdu Youth Volleyball Championship (Secondary School Division) and Chengdu 2021 FISU University Games Test Event at Beixing Middle School of Chengdu Xindu No.1 Middle School. The program manager emphasized the importance of strictly adhering to regulations set out by FISU Games authorities while setting a solid foundation for this exciting event’s overall success.
With these successful test events and more to come, the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games are shaping up to be a splendid showcase of athleticism and sportsmanship.
