Manufacturing industry informationization combines information technology, automation technology, modern management technology, and manufacturing technology to improve various aspects of manufacturing enterprises such as business operations, management, product development, and production. It enhances production efficiency, product quality, and innovation capabilities while reducing consumption. This process also drives innovation in product design methods and tools, enterprise management models, manufacturing technologies, and collaborative relationships between enterprises. Through the integration of information systems and intelligent production process control with CNC equipment and networked consulting services, manufacturing industry informationization comprehensively improves China’s competitiveness in the manufacturing industry.

As the depth of national dual integration continues to increase, Chinese manufacturing industry informationization enters a new phase of development. Advanced information management systems such as ERP, MES, DNC, MDC, PDM, Tracker have been widely used in manufacturing enterprises. These systems enable suppliers to participate in product manufacturing and transportation through supply chain management (SCM), enable customers to participate in product design and manufacture through customer relationship management (CRM) and product lifecycle management (PLM). They accurately reflect the material supply situation in the production process, work progress and product quality through enterprise resource planning (ERP)and manufacturing execution system(MES), thereby strengthening internal collaboration among various departments.

Industrial software is at the core of industrial informatization including MES,CAM,and ERP.These software programs are designed for use in industrial applications such as programming languages for system software or middleware that sits between them.Some industrial software programs include research & development design software which includes PLM,p roduction scheduling & process control software which includes MES,and business administration software which includes ERP.These can optimize resource allocation to enhance productivity at machine level,factory level,and plant level.

For example,in PLM software products,machine-aided design(CAD),machine-aided production(CAM),product data management(PDM)and manufacturing processes are seamlessly integrated. MES software is designed to strengthen MRP plan execution capabilities, and provides a means of executing company goals through the real-time database connection between basic information systems and factory data. ERP software serves as a management platform for decision-makers and employees to provide decision-making and operational tools.

In conclusion, industrial software plays an important role in manufacturing industry informationization by enhancing resource allocation, productivity, collaboration among departments and overall competitiveness.
