In conclusion, our study highlights the importance of Klotho in severe periodontal attachment loss and its potential as a target for treatment. We also confirmed the relationship between renal function and periodontitis through Klotho levels. Moreover, we distinguished the effects of ageing and senescence on severe periodontal attachment loss by gender. Our findings provide new insights into the pathogenesis of severe periodontal attachment loss and may aid in developing personalized treatment strategies for patients with periodontal diseases. Further studies are needed to confirm these findings and explore the underlying mechanisms involved.
