In terms of alpha diversity analysis (Fig. 5A), there was a significant increase in the Chao1 and Shannon index, and a decrease in the Simpson index of gut microbiota in the DL and DH groups compared to those in the D group (P<0.01). This suggests that CMPs improved the richness and diversity of microbial community. Beta diversity analysis, which reflects the similarity of microbial community structure, was determined by principal coordinate analysis (PCoA) and nonmetric multidimensional scaling analysis (NMDS) (Fig. 5B). The results showed clear separation among the C group, D group, and CMPs-treated groups (PCoA: R=; p=; NMDS: R=; p=), indicating that CMPs intervention significantly altered the structure of gut microbiota in T2DM mice.
