The LOAD_FILE() function in MySQL is used to read the contents of a file and return it as a string. It takes one parameter, which is the path of the file to be read.
Syntax:
LOAD_FILE(file_path);
Example:
Suppose we have a file named “example.txt” with the following content:
Hello World!
To read the contents of this file in MySQL, we can use the LOAD_FILE() function as shown below:
SELECT LOAD_FILE(‘/path/to/example.txt’);
Output:
+—————+ | LOAD_FILE() | +—————+ | Hello World! | +—————+
Note: The file path should be an absolute path, not a relative path. Also, the user executing the query must have the FILE privilege to use this function.
