This article provides an overview of the development of critical discourse analysis (CDA) in China from 2011 to 2021. During this time, CDA has become a thriving and influential field in China, with scholars conducting theoretical and methodological explorations and empirical studies across a wide range of discourses. The field has also expanded to include interdisciplinary approaches such as corpus linguistics, cognitive linguistics, multimodality, translation studies, and eco-linguistics. Chinese scholars have adapted CDA to address social, political, and cultural issues in contemporary Chinese society. This review aims to inform the international academic community about the latest developments in CDA in China.
