Git cherry-pick is a command used in Git version control system to apply a specific commit from one branch into another. It allows you to select and apply changes made in one branch or specific commit(s) onto another branch without merging the entire branch.
The syntax of git cherry-pick command is as follows:
git cherry-pick <commit-hash>
Here, <commit-hash>
refers to the hash code of the commit that you want to apply onto another branch.
For example, if you have two branches named “feature” and “master” and you want to apply a specific commit (let’s say it has a hash code ‘abcd1234’) from “feature” branch onto “master”, you can use the following command:
git checkout master
git cherry-pick abcd1234
This will apply the changes made in that particular commit onto the current branch (i.e., “master”).
