ZIF-8 materials were produced in the current study using zinc nitrate hexahydrate (Zn(NO3)3∙6H2O) and 2-methylimidazole (C4H6N2) at room temperature with static conditions. To obtain ZIF-8-Eu-derived carbon materials, europium nitrate hexahydrate (Eu(NO3)3∙6H2O) was added before calcination and pyrolysis. The carbon materials’ structural analysis and apparent morphology were evaluated through X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy, while their electrochemical properties were studied via cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance, and constant current charge-discharge tests.
