Git stash is a command used in Git version control system to temporarily save the changes that are not yet ready to be committed. It allows to save the current state of the working directory and index without committing the changes, and revert back to the original state. This can be useful when working on multiple branches or when you need to switch context quickly without losing any changes. The command creates a new stash entry which includes the changes made to tracked files, but not those made to untracked files. The stashed changes can be reapplied later using git stash apply or git stash pop commands.
